What a Dusty Day!!

Dusty Day 2008 has exceeded all expectations. In an early count of the takings for the Royal Marsden Hospital Charity I can reveal that we have raised more than last years event. There are still donations being made from abroad, so the final total will take a few days to confirm.
Around 250 fans from around the World gathered again in Finnegan’s Wake, Ealing for the annual fundraiser. Thanks to Finnegan’s Wake management & staff for their hard work & for giving the facilities free.
Performances were started by Simon Bell & Jonathan Cohen with a  selection from The Dusty Springfield Songbook, including I Am Your Child & If It Hadn’t Been For You. Folk legend Julie Felix followed, in a wonderful performance including a duet with Madeline Bell. Then the main show started, with Madeline & Simon joined by The One & Only... winner Katy Setterfield. They sang their way through Dusty’s songs, singing each others backing vocals and duetting - Madeline with Simon on Private Number - and Katy with Simon on Aint No Mountain High Enough.
The auction was a huge success with Dusty’s leather jacket going for £750.
The final total raised will be revealed here as soon as it’s confirmed.
