Contactmusic.com has announced the results of a UK poll by Nokia to find the UK’s Favourite Song, and SON OF A PREACHER MAN by Dusty is No.1 !! The poll was conducted to find the favourite song of British cities with a view to having the Top Ten of each city played in benches erected as part of Nokia’s Comes With Music package. Dusty came No.1 in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, London and Leeds.

The national top five were:

1: Son Of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield

2: Paint It Black - Rolling Stones

3: Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

4: Hey Jude - The Beatles

5: Angels - Robbie Williams

The song, which was released on 1969, wasn’t Dusty’s biggest hit at the time, but has grown i popularity since it’s use in the movie Pulp Fiction.
