Dusty Day 2008 took place on Sunday April 20th. in Finnegan's Wake, London W5. following the huge success of last year's event in the same venue. Around 250 fans came from all over the World to celebrate Dusty's life and music. The final figure raised will be available in a few days.

We are still receiving donations from abroad, but I can tell you that we have broken last year's record. Dusty Day 2008 was a huge success!! Thank you all.

Madeline Bell , Julie Felix, Simon Bell, Katy Setterfield & Jonathan Cohen all performed.

Additional guests included Pat Rhodes & Derek Wadsworth.

All in aid of Prof. Ian Smith Cancer Research Fund at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Charity No. 1095197

There was an auction, as always in aid of the Royal Marsden Hospital charity, as is the whole day. The blue leather jacket (worn by Dusty in the photograph on the left) raised £750.

Madeline Bell donated an Ossie Clarke dress which she wore on stage. This was bought by Katy Setterfield, who will no doubt be wearing it her Dusty act, as Dusty wore an almost identical dress when performing Spooky.

Chappells of Bond Street donated two books of Dusty's songs.

Shelby Lynne had sent signed copies of her Dusty inspired album "Just A Little Lovin'"

The photograph section (left) has an eye make-up design drawn by Dusty herself onto her own picture. This was donated by Simon Bell. Other items donated by Simon included a picture of a cat with flowers which was on the wall in Dusty's home.

Special thanks to John Aitken, who, once more, spent all day on the door, Clive Burgess who sold hundreds if raffle tickets, Tere & Jen, the management & staff of Finnegan's Wake, and Jonathan Cohen for his tireless work & enthusiasm, and for supplying the keyboard.

Weather was kinder than we had feared, and the sun even shone for a while.
